Brentwood Traditional

RENOVATION AND DECOR

This library was designed around our client’s lifelong desire for a space specifically dedicated to reading and storing books. Our design concept was to create a warm, traditional library aesthetic that didn’t feel stuffy or heavy. The built-in reading nook was a piece custom designed to fit within the shelving. Upholstered in a soft green velvet with a tufted back, it adds to the library aesthetic and provides the perfect place to curl up with a book. A custom framed antique architectural sketch done by a Hume Fogg student adds a bit of Tennessee history to the space. The antique oriental rug was a wedding gift from the client’s family, providing another special element. Clean-lined leather barrel chairs provide more seating and a modern punch to an otherwise traditional space.

In the master bedroom, we specified a custom reclaimed wood headboard and selected all new bedding and custom pillows. The bedside chair was reupholstered in rust velvet.

The living room was redecorated with custom framed art, and we specified all new furniture and a Persian-style rug.

Updates in the powder room include a custom-designed vanity, glass mosaic tile, new plumbing fixtures, and handprinted grasscloth wallcovering.
